    Anesthesia System Basic Product Training is available for AVANCE*, AISYS*, AESPIRE* and AESTIVA* Anesthesia Systems on basic equipment usage. The training is delivered using a Clinical Skills Checklist that highlights the basic operation of the product in a non-classroom setting using a “hands on” approach with the equipment. This class is designed to build basic user knowledge and is not an in-depth review of the equipment.


    • Overview

      Course Objectives:

      • Become familiar with the placement and definition of parts on the Anesthesia System
      • Become familiar with the clinical information on the Anesthesia display and how to navigate the menus efficiently ·
      • Become familiar with the system power, use of outlets, battery back-up, and emergency options
      • Understand the alarm prioritization, where alarms appear, how to silence and disable alarms, and how to set appropriate alarms
      • Learn about the sources of O2 information & the O2 flush function; learn how to operate the alternate O2 control, auxiliary O2 flow meter, and the electronic gas delivery system, including the electronic hypoxic guard 
      • Learn how vaporization works in the Anesthesia System, including using  the vaporizers properly;  how to adjust the agent levels, how to fill the vaporizers, and replace or change the vaporizers
      • Learn how the breathing system works both in the manual and ventilator modes; learn how to work the bag support arm, remove and replace the CO2 canisters, EZ change, and condenser;  learn to operate the type of scavenging system appropriate to their facility 
      • Be able to calibrate the flow sensors; understand the functionality of the flow sensors 
      • Learn how to do the required system checkout on both the ventilator and manual modes; learn to do the agent delivery check and low pressure leak check; learn how to recognize faults in the system during the checkout
      • Learn the modes of ventilation available on the Anesthesia System and have a general understanding of each mode
      • Learn how to access, set, and use each mode of ventilation; learn how to start and end a case, view trends, and use cardiac bypass feature
      • Students will be have time to adequately perform the duties required to be able to operate the Anesthesia System
